Axis41 Joins with Global Performance Marketing Agency Merkle, a Dentsu Aegis Network Company

Salt Lake City-based digital marketing agency was recently acquired by Merkle, a full-service integrated performance marketing agency that specializes in people-based marketing.

SALT LAKE CITY—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Axis41, a digital marketing agency based in Salt Lake City, recently announced its acquisition by Merkle. The Utah agency’s more than 170 employees, specializing in communications strategy, creative, technology and campaign development, will join the Merkle team in an effort to expand Merkle’s network and people-based marketing approach.

The acquisition strengthens the agency’s growth opportunities and the ability to take its business to new heights, particularly since both companies maintain and expand shared partnerships with several leading marketing cloud organizations, including Adobe, Amazon Web Services, Sitecore, Clickability, Mongo DB, Salesforce, Oracle, and IBM.

In addition to Axis41’s technical expertise, the agency’s creative command is part of what caught the attention of Merkle. “The opportunities are endless,” said David Williams, Merkle’s President and CEO. “Axis41 has found perfect harmony in the intersection of technology and creative, and we are eager to bring the two agencies together and replicate this balance.”

“We are excited to watch as both of our unique stories come together,” said Ron Pynes, Axis41’s Partner over Strategic Services and one of the newest members of Merkle’s Senior Management Team. “We’re proud of the acquisition, a partnership that will extend our ability to better serve our current and future clients.”

Axis41’s founding partners, Ron Pynes, Strategic Services, Steve Wiest, Creative Services, and Reed Wright, Technical Services, will continue operating Axis41, A Merkle Company, under the direction and leadership of Merkle’s Chief Growth Officer, Harry Brakeley.
